The pit bull named Simba has a benevolent character. Sadly, a few people consider him to be fearsome just because of his breed.

The sweet pooch, however, proved them wrong recently. Alongside his owner, Arjanit Mehana, Simba lives in an apartment in Sweden.

In spite of the dog's good advances, some people in the building would make a special effort to keep away from him. One neighbor, an older woman, was particularly cold to Simba. She lives a floor below.

In an interview with The Dodo, Arjanit said, "He always tried to greet her, but she called him mean and looked at him with fear. She never liked him because he was a 'bad' breed."

In any case, Simba never soured to the elderly woman. At some point, the dog and his owner were returning home from a walk when they passed by the neighbor's unit on their way up the stairs. Arjanit quickly noticed that his beloved dog started to act unusually.

"He stopped," Arjanit explained. "He began to bark and run to the door where the neighbor lives. I pulled the leash but he refused to come."

Simba wouldn't move, so Arjanit decided to move to pick him up. That was the point at which he heard a weak voice yell for help.

Arjanit immediately opened the door, which was unlocked. There, he found the old woman collapsed on the floor.

According to him, she had broken her hip and been in her home for some time. The woman had gone unnoticed for two days.

She couldn't move, and her life was in danger. Luckily, Simba had detected her in the nick of time. Arjanit then called for an ambulance. He and his dog held up with the neighbor until it showed up.

Her life had been spared by the dog who, before, she'd never warmed up to. Obviously, in a moment, that all changed.

"She said, 'Thank you for hearing me.' I thought she was talking to me at first," Arjanit said. "But then she said, 'No, not you — the nice doggie.'"

Meanwhile, other people in the building have started showering Simba with treats and blessings.
