The Thai dog owner's choice to style her Pomeranian's ears turned risky when the dog built up an allergy.
Diffy, a Pomeranian dog, suffered an allergic reaction to the chemicals in the dye after the owner took him to a grooming salon in Hua Hin, eastern Thailand, to get his ear and tail dyed bright red.
The salon workers performed a procedure called "foil wrap" dye on the dog's delicate fur. Diffy got bright red ears and tail following 40 minutes of the process.
But was instantly evident that the dog's ears were drooping where earlier it stood straight up. The owner was informed that his ears would recover after a couple of days. Unfortunately, it never happened.
Diffy's ears gradually began burning up even more because of allergy, and the dog also experienced irritated skin. Afterward, it additionally began flaking.
The owner decided to take to social media to seek help and disclosed what happened to Diffy. She also inquired as to whether any other person had encountered something comparative.
A few people came up to offer recommendations to the owner. However, several other slammed her for her recklessness.
Meanwhile, the owner suffered much criticism on social media for her "irresponsible" decision. Neeyada Sirisampandh of Mid Road Lover dog rescue group based in Bangkok, said, "Let this be a lesson to other dog owner's. It is dangerous to dye your puppy's fur."
"This dog's ear looks like it suffered an allergic reaction and was burned," Sirisampandh added. "Then it fell off. Her ear is gone forever. It's all the owner's fault for trying to color them."
A local named Nubdaww Prapharat, on the other hand, said, "I feel sorry for the dog. They are not strong enough to endure all situations and can be easily harmed." Prapharat added that she doesn't understand why the owner would get them through this torment.
