Blackpink Breaks Multiple Guinness World Records with their Music Video

K-pop superstars Blackpink have broken several Guinness World Records titles with the music video of their comeback single "How You Like That."

According to the Guinness World Records website, the band's new video has set new records for Most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours, Most viewed music video on YouTube in 24 hours, and Most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a K-pop group.

These three records were previously held by K-pop boy band BTS for their music video called "Boy With Luv" with Halsey. The video dropped in April 2019. Within the first day of release, the "How You Like That" music video amassed 86.3 million views.

The Guinness World Records included that YouTube has affirmed that the live premiere of the song reached 1.66 million peak concurrent viewers, subsequently setting two new record titles.


These are; Most viewers for the premiere of a video on YouTube and Most viewers for the premiere of a music video on YouTube.

Meanwhile, Blackpink is also the highest-charting female K-pop act on both Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200. The group peaked at number 33 with "Sour Candy" (2020), and peaked at number 24 with "Kill This Love" (2019), respectively.

They are also the first and only K-pop girl group to enter and top the chart of Billboard called Emerging Artists, as well as the first female K-pop group to have four number-one singles on Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart.

Blackpink is a South Korean girl group consisting of members Jennie, Lisa, Rose, and Jisoo. The band debuted in 2016, with their single album "Square One," which spawned "Whistle," their first number-one song in South Korea.

Meanwhile, the song "Boombayah" is their first number-one hit on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart.
