A Los Angeles court declined the application of Pop Princess Britney Spears to remove her father, James Spears, from the conservatorship of her estate.

Los Angeles Superior Court judge Brenda Penny declined to suspend James from his conservatorship in a hearing on Tuesday. The judge, however, did not rule out future petitions for his removal or suspension.

Samuel D. Ingham III, the lawyer of the pop star, told the judge: "My client has informed me that she is afraid of her father. She will not perform again if her father is in charge of her career."

Since 2008, James Spears has been Britney's conservator when the "Toxic" singer suffered a public breakdown. After lawyer Andrew Wallet resigned from his co-conservatorship, James became sole conservator in 2019.
