In the new court hearing, Britney Spears was given a boost in her battle to end the conservatorship that has ruled over her life for the past 13 years.

After she gave a shocking testimony on her court date on June 23, Britney's attorney Sam Ingham stepped down.

Sam's resignation coincides with the Pop Princess' intention to hire her own attorney.

Known for providing high-powered legal services to celebrities and celebrities alike, Matthew Rosengart has been named Britney's pick.

Judge Brenda Penny heard Matthew's appeal today and he explained why the singer should have the right to select her own attorney.

Upon granting the request, Matthew promised to file the necessary paperwork within weeks to officially end Britney's conservatorship.



Obviously, there will likely be some resistance from other organizations, but it's still a big step.

Britney Spears made it clear in her testimony that her presence was aimed at getting rid of her father and conservator, Jamie Spears.

Additionally, she said she was planning to file a complaint against him for conservatorship abuse.
