Back then, Britney Spears' mother, Lynne Spears, had a tumultuous marriage to Jamie Spears. Britney started her career in the entertainment industry on a Disney Channel show called the "Mickey Mouse Club" in the 90s.
When her song, "...Baby One More Time," became a hit, everything about Britney's family changed forever. Thus, the paparazzi always followed her every move, making it impossible for her to enjoy a private life.
Britney had a breakdown in 2007, screaming at the invaders and shaving her hair. After being evaluated in mental rehabilitation, a conservatorship was appointed.
JAMIE'S BAD HABITS
Currently, Britney is battling for freedom and wants to go back to her old life. Long before she was born, her father was involved in a long-term situation.
The US Weekly reported that Lynne contemplated leaving Jamie more than once after they got married in 1975. Jamie changed jobs frequently and had a drinking problem. He had shown himself incapable of breaking his bad habits.
As The New York Times explained, Jamie, who is under scrutiny for physical and verbal abuse allegations, took charge of what he viewed as Britney's demons. Nevertheless, Britney disputed his suitability for the role by pointing to his drinking habits, among other grievances.
THE SALON INCIDENT
In 2007, Britney dumped her ex-husband Kevin Federline through a divorce. Her life began to slip out of control as a result of having to fight for custody of her sons, Jayden James Federline and Sean Preston Federline, and it seemed as though the paparazzi weren't going to stop following her.
Then, one day, Britney went to a salon in Los Angeles with her bodyguards. In an article published by Fox News, Esther Tognozzi, who owns the salon, revealed that one of the bodyguards would repeatedly open the blinds to allow photographers to take photos of the singer shaving her head.
While Tognozzi tried to help Britney resolve the issue atop her head, the pop star refused to make any changes. Also, she stated Britney was very content with her shaved head.
BRITNEY'S STATEMENTS
It's been 13 years since the conservatorship was established. Fans all over the world are now supporting Britney through the #FreeBritney movement. Recently, the singer had a hearing to have her father removed from his role as conservator.
In the transcript provided by Variety, Britney said, "My dad acted like he didn't know that. I had to be tested over the Christmas holidays before they sent me away when my kids went home to Louisiana. He was the one who approved all of it."
While expressing her distress to the judge, Britney, who helped initiate the revival of teen pop in the late 1990s and early 2000s, conveyed her emotions in her best way.
According to NPR, Britney remembered one instance in which she hesitated to perform in Las Vegas further. It was a relief when her handlers said she would no longer have to do the shows, but she worried about the consequences.
A few days later, Britney said her therapist told her they heard she wasn't cooperative. She claimed he changed her medication regimen after that.
#FREEBRITNEY
Jamie should not be allowed to continue managing Britney's life. In the first place, she's in a better place, so she never needs the support of her father to make decisions on what she should do in her life.
It is Britney's right to see her children and live her life how she wants. The Pop Princess said that while she did the hard work and earned her money, everyone around her was on her payroll. That just proves how inhumane her conservatorship is.
