Mariah Carey's 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' Breaks New Record

Mariah Carey shines brighter than ever! Her critically acclaimed holiday hit "All I Want for Christmas Is You" broke new ground by receiving a RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) Diamond Award on Friday.

Now "All I Want for Christmas Is You" has become the first holiday single to receive this one. In a press release, Mariah said, "The continued love for my song never ceases to amaze me and fill my heart with a multitude of emotions."

"It blows my mind that 'All I Want for Christmas is You' has endured different eras of the music industry," the singer added. "The RIAA DIAMOND award?! Wowww! I'm so fortunate to have the greatest fans on Earth, my Lambily, who continue to support my legacy. I love you."

Mariah also shared the news on social media shortly after the announcement. A picture of her with her Diamond Award trophy was posted. In the caption, Mariah wrote, "Diamonds are a girl's best friend 💎❤️."

Mariah and Walter Afanasieff penned and produced "All I Want for Christmas," which was released in 1994.

For the singer to receive the award, she needed to earn 10 million sales and streams. Mariah also achieved Diamond certification for her 1993 album "Music Box" and 1995's "Daydream."
