Little Boy's Pit Bull Attacks Suspected Thief

Shane believed that the man appeared as though he wanted him because when he saw him, he just walked toward him without looking at anything else.

No one can tell what would have happened to 9-year-old Shane Smith without his dog.

That day, Shane was home alone when the burglar entered their home. Fortunately, his pit bull, named Baby Girl, was there to help him. During that time, Shane's mom went to pick up one of his siblings. He was upstairs when he heard somebody attempting to open the door.

At first, Shane didn't pay much attention because he assumed it was his mother trying to unlock the door with her keys. However, what he saw on the opposite side of the door was every kid's worst nightmare.

The man, who was wearing a ski mask, was attempting to force his way in. Luckily, somebody was there to get his back, and that was Baby Girl. Shane quickly called his pit bull when the intruder started following him upstairs. At that point, the criminal and his dog then began to battle.

Shane explained, "It was in a blink of an eye and I was really scared. Because it was only me home and I didn't know who it was and the only protection I had was my dogs."

Shane believed that the man appeared as though he wanted him because when he saw him, he just walked toward him without looking at anything else.

In spite of the fact that Baby Girl didn't seem like she was harmed, the man tussled with her for a bit. "The dude pulled the blinds down on my dog's head and then ran away and shut the door," Shane said.

A neighbor called the kid's mom, informing her regarding the burglary before she got back home. The authorities don't have any leads about the identity of the burglar.

Shane revealed to them that the man fled the scene in a silver car, and that is the only thing he knows.
