Acclaimed British musician Ed Sheeran tested positive for COVID-19. However, he will continue to perform from home.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Ed told his followers he was positive for COVID-19. He wrote, "Hey guys. Quick note to tell you that I've sadly tested positive for Covid, so I'm now self-isolating and following government guidelines."

The multi-awarded crooner added, "It means that I'm now unable to plough ahead with any in person commitments for now, so I'll be doing as many of my planned interviews/performances I can from my house. Apologies to anyone I've let down. Be safe everyone."

"Saturday Night Live" was slated to feature Ed as a guest on November 6. Whether he will be replaced or his appearance changed to a virtual form is unclear.

Meanwhile, concert dates with the musician are scheduled throughout the U.K. and Europe, but those aren't due to begin until April 2022.
