Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin remains in the University of Cincinnati Medical Center after suffering a medical emergency, according to ESPN.

Jordon Rooney, Hamlin's friend and marketing representative, offered an update on the player's health, stating that doctors at the hospital saw "promising readings that they had been hoping to see" and that it appeared "progress" had been made.

However, Hamlin is still in the ICU and sedated, and is considered to be in critical condition.

Rooney also indicated that Hamlin has a "long way to go in his recovery," but the family is optimistic.

Dorian Glenn, Hamlin's uncle, told the NFL Network that Hamlin's condition had improved to 50% oxygen on a ventilator.
