Cristiano Ronaldo's debut for Al Nassr has been delayed because the club currently has too many overseas players on its roster.

According to rules in the Saudi Pro League, teams are only allowed to have eight non-Saudi Arabian players signed on.

However, Ronaldo is the ninth foreign addition to the squad. In order to register Ronaldo, Al Nassr will have to release one of its current foreign players.

Additionally, Ronaldo is currently serving a two-match ban for improper conduct, which may further delay his debut.

The ban was issued by the English Football Association last year after Ronaldo appeared to slap an autistic boy's phone out of his hand while leaving the field at Old Trafford.
