It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of former NFL player Jessie Lemonier. The former Detroit Lions linebacker passed away at the age of 25, during his girlfriend's pregnancy with their first child.
On January 26, the Detroit Lions confirmed the news of Lemonier's death in a statement on Twitter, "We are shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of former Detroit Lion Jessie Lemonier.
"Jessie was a model teammate and wonderful young man who is gone far too soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time."

Lemonier was first drafted into the NFL in 2020, signing with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent.
He later signed with the Lions ahead of the 2021 season, and appeared in seven games, finishing with 15 total tackles and 1.5 sacks.
He also had a brief stint with the Arizona Cardinals before being released during training camp.
