Disney's Marvel has taken legal action in response to the alleged unauthorized release of a 63-page transcript of dialogue from the movie "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" online, prior to its theatrical release.

Marvel has filed a formal request with a federal district court in California, seeking a subpoena to be issued to Reddit, requesting that the social media platform disclose identifying information about the user 'u/MSSmods', as well as any other users responsible for the posting, editing, and/or maintaining of the content on the r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers subreddit between January 15th and February 15th, as reported by Variety.

The request was made under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). Additionally, Marvel has filed a similar request with Google, after someone allegedly shared the document to Google Docs.

Previously, Marvel had issued DMCA takedown requests to Reddit and Google, in an effort to remove the copyright-infringing material. While a spokesperson for Reddit declined to comment on whether the company intends to comply with Marvel's information request, stating that "Reddit is committed to protecting our users' privacy.

"We have rigorous processes in place to assess legal requests and object when appropriate." Representatives for Marvel and Google did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Despite receiving negative reviews from critics, "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" has grossed $198 million domestically through its fourth weekend of release.

According to piracy news site TorrentFreak, the leaked dialogue was edited and/or displayed in a Portuguese web interface, and the report suggests that the text was intended for use in subtitles.
