BigHit Music Announces BTS Member J-hope's Enlistment in the Military

On April 1, 2023, BigHit Music announced that J-hope, a member of BTS, had enlisted in the military, becoming the second member of the group to do so.

In a statement released on Weverse, the company expressed gratitude for the fans' unwavering support of BTS and provided details about J-hope's military service.

According to the statement, J-hope will fulfill his mandatory military service by enlisting in the army.


The company also emphasized that there will be no official event on the day of his entry and that the entrance ceremony is a private affair for military personnel and their families only.

As such, fans were requested not to gather around the military site to prevent any issues that may arise from overcrowding. Instead, they were asked to keep their well wishes and support for J-hope in their hearts.

BigHit Music also implored fans to continue to support J-hope and his work until he completes his military service and returns. The company pledged to provide J-hope with all the necessary support during this time.

On the day prior to his enlistment, J-hope made good on a promise to support Jimin during his solo album promotions.

In addition, J-hope released a collaboration with J Cole titled "On the Street" ahead of his enlistment. The artist debuted his solo album in 2022.
