Katy Perry's dominance during the pinnacle of her career continues to leave her peers, as well as those who came before and after her, in the dust. Her remarkable achievements from her bestselling albums 'Teenage Dream' in 2010 and 'Prism' in 2013 are still shattering records.

The latest historic milestone for Katy Perry arrives with the news that her collaboration with Snoop Dogg on the chart-topping 2010 hit 'California Gurls,' featured on 'Teenage Dream,' has surpassed the impressive milestone of 10 million units sold in the United States alone. This achievement has earned the song Diamond status from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Notably, this accomplishment makes Katy Perry the first woman in the history of music to possess four Diamond plaques for singles. Her inclusion in this elite group sets her apart in the overall record books of the RIAA.

Prior to June 21, the late pop icon Whitney Houston was the sole female artist to hold four Diamond plaques. One of these plaques was awarded to the timeless classic 'I Will Always Love You,' while the remaining three were bestowed upon her albums 'Whitney Houston' (1985), 'Whitney' (1987), and the soundtrack 'The Bodyguard' from 1992. Remarkably, the latter recognition made Whitney Houston the first black artist to receive multiple certifications of this magnitude for albums.

With Katy's recent achievement, she now shares the title of the most Diamond-certified female artist of all time with Whitney Houston, despite not having any albums certified at such a high level.

Among all musicians, only a select few have accumulated more Diamond plaques. Garth Brooks leads the pack with nine Diamond-certified albums, followed by Post Malone with seven Diamond-certified singles. Eminem has achieved the feat with three Diamond-certified albums and three Diamond-certified singles, while The Beatles have attained six Diamond-certified albums. Led Zeppelin, Bruno Mars, and The Weeknd each boast five Diamond-certified albums or singles.

Katy Perry's latest milestone is a testament to her enduring impact on the music industry, solidifying her status as one of the most successful and influential artists of her generation.
