The young rapper and social media star Lil Tay has passed away at the age of 14. A message was posted on Lil Tay's Instagram account, where she was known by her real name Claire Hope, announcing her sudden death. Her management confirmed this sad news to Variety.

The message shared with her 3.3 million followers expressed the deep sorrow and shock at Claire's unexpected passing. It also mentioned that her brother, Jason Tian, has also passed away. The cause of their deaths is currently being investigated.

The family's Instagram post asked for privacy during this difficult time as they cope with the loss of both Claire and her brother. They shared that Claire's absence will create a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Lil Tay gained fame in 2018 at the age of 9 for sharing attention-grabbing videos on Instagram, where she rapped and used strong language to show off a luxurious lifestyle. She was known as the "youngest flexer of the century." She faced criticism for appropriating hip-hop culture and using inappropriate language.

In 2019, it was reported that Tay's older brother Jason played a significant role in managing her social media presence. Together with their mother Angela Tian, they caused confusion in the industry by discussing deals without signing contracts.
