Kelly Osbourne Shares Heartfelt Tribute to Late Father Ozzy Osbourne, Reflecting on His Enduring Legacy

A poignant tribute from a grieving daughter to a music icon.

In an emotional note penned to her late father, legendary Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, Kelly Osbourne expressed her profound grief and gratitude to fans for their support.

The Prince of Darkness passed away on July 22 at the age of 76, following a long battle with various health issues, including Parkinson's disease.

Kelly took to Instagram to share her feelings, writing, "Grief is a strange thing—it sneaks up on you in waves—I will not be ok for a while—but knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference."

She thanked fans for the "love, support, and beautiful messages" that have helped her through "the hardest moment" of her life.

This public outpouring of emotion comes after a deeply personal and difficult period for the Osbourne family.

Ozzy's final public performance with Black Sabbath took place just weeks before his death, a concert in his hometown of Birmingham, England, that Sharon Osbourne described as his "full stop."

The performance, which saw a frail Ozzy seated on a throne, was a powerful and emotional farewell to the 40,000 fans who came to see him one last time.

Ozzy's final years were marked by a series of health battles, including a severe fall in 2019 that aggravated a previous spinal injury and led to multiple surgeries.

Despite his physical struggles, his humor and spirit remained, as his sister, Jean Powell, noted after a recent visit: "It was upsetting because he could not stand up straight... But he was still our John, still cracking the jokes."

The love for Ozzy was on full display during a public funeral procession in Birmingham, where thousands of fans lined the streets, chanting his name and leaving tributes at the Black Sabbath bridge and bench.

The city's mayor acknowledged that Ozzy was "more than a music legend—he was a son of Birmingham."

Kelly's tribute is a testament to the deep bond she shared with her father and the immense impact he had on the world.

As she continues to mourn, she holds on "tight to the love, the light, and the legacy left behind."
