The upcoming Michael Jackson biopic, "Michael," has been hit with a significant setback after the late King of Pop's daughter, Paris Jackson, publicly criticized the film, claiming it's filled with "full-blown lies" and "inaccuracies."
The film, which is being produced by the co-executors of the Michael Jackson estate, has faced scrutiny from fans and insiders who suspect it will be a sanitized version of the singer's life.
Paris took to her Instagram to respond to comments made by actor Colman Domingo, who plays her grandfather Joe Jackson in the film.
Domingo had suggested that Paris and her brother Prince were "very much in support" of the project, a claim Paris vehemently denied.
She stated she had "zero per cent involvement" in the film and had "butted out" after her feedback on an early script draft was ignored.
Paris expressed her frustration with Hollywood's tendency to "sugar-coat" biopics, stating that "the narrative is being controlled" and the film "panders to a very specific section of my dad's fandom that still lives in the fantasy."
She emphasized that she prefers "honesty over sales and monetary gain."
This isn't the first time the biopic has faced controversy. The film, which stars Michael's nephew, Jaafar Jackson, as the titular character, has already experienced multiple delays and reports of legal issues concerning the film's content.

The "Michael" biopic is not only a family affair with Jaafar Jackson in the lead role, but it also boasts a star-studded cast, including Nia Long as Katherine Jackson and Miles Teller as Michael's lawyer, John Branca.
Despite the criticisms, the film continues to move forward with a scheduled release in April 2026.
