Pop music icon Britney Spears continues to prove that true greatness never fades. New data shared by Spotify with Rolling Stone reveals that younger generations are driving a massive wave of streams for her classic hits.

While millennials grew up buying her albums and watching her videos on television, a brand new group of fans is taking over her streaming numbers. This proves her timeless appeal across different eras of pop culture.
According to the streaming platform, there have been over 40 million "discoveries" of Britney Spears' music catalog this year alone. Spotify defines these discoveries as people streaming her songs for the very first time, or returning to them after a break of six months or more.
Out of those millions of discovery plays, an impressive sixty percent came directly from Gen Z listeners. These are fans who were born between 1997 and 2012, meaning many of them were babies or not even born yet when she released her biggest chart-topping hits.

Her iconic hit song "I'm a Slave 4 U" is a great example of this ongoing trend. Even though the track came out decades ago, more than 55 percent of its global streams over the past month came from Gen Z.
Data shows that about 27 percent of the streams for that specific song came from users who were born after Britney first premiered the track on MTV. Younger fans are finding these classic tracks through social media clips, viral videos, and playlist recommendations.
Music experts point out that her bold style and heavy bass beats helped change pop music forever. Her third studio album, which features "I'm a Slave 4 U," continues to sell well and pull in millions of new plays every single week.
