"Like, I can't wear this dress because they're going to say it's like B. Or, I can't have a song like that because it sounds too much like B."

In an episode of "The Voice Australia," Kelly Rowland discussed her years in Destiny's Child. She also shared her feelings every time she's compared to Beyoncé.

The multitalented artist shared her own encounters of living in the shadow of Beyoncé after one of the contestants, Chris Sebastian, confessed to feeling overshadowed by his older brother.

Rowland said that she knows the feeling, adding, "Can you imagine what it's like being in a group with Beyoncé?"

"I would just torture myself in my head," she continued. "Like, I can't wear this dress because they're going to say it's like B. Or, I can't have a song like that because it sounds too much like B. They're gonna compare anyways."

According to Rowland, that feeling haunted her for a very long time. "I would be lying if I said no, it's never bothered me. That's bull," she admitted.

"There was a whole decade, if I am being completely honest, a decade, where it was like the elephant in the room. It was the thing that would constantly be on my shoulder."

Regardless of the comparisons, Rowland can still be considered successful as a solo artist. During the two-year hiatus of Destiny's Child, she released her first solo album, "Simply Deep," in 2002.

The album debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and sold more than 2.5 million copies around the world. It included hits such as "Dilemma" and "Can't Nobody."

Rowland also entered the world of the movie industry. She starred in the films "Freddy vs. Jason" (2003) and "The Seat Filler" (2005).

After the disbandment of Destiny's Child in 2006, she's gone on to release three studio albums — "Ms. Kelly" in 2007, "Here I Am" in 2011 and "Talk a Good Game" in 2013.

All through her career, Rowland has sold more than 30 million records as a solo artist. Her spectacular work has earned her several awards and nominations.
