"Framing Britney Spears" gives people a look into how Britney Spears has been portrayed in the media over the years, her struggles with custody over her two sons, and her 2007 "breakdown," as the press viewed it.

The new Samantha Stark-directed documentary, produced by the New York Times, also touches on her current battle with her father, Jamie Spears, over her 13-year conservatorship.

While she battles her father in court over who should control her life, people close to Spears and her lawyers now reassess her career.

In recent years, the hashtag #FreeBritney started trending on social media and sees Spears' fans support a movement against her conservatorship.

In 2008, Spears' conservatorship kicked in, and in November 2020, she asked for her father's removal as conservator, but that effort was denied by the court.

Update: Our website has taken down the full documentary due to copyright infringement. You can still watch it on FX and Hulu.
