"It also said on my account I would get $50 billion in 2099. Which would be sick but I don't know if I would be alive at that point."

Maddie McGivern, thought to be from California, logged into her bank account in the early morning and discovered she had accumulated $50 billion of debt, minus the $76 she had in her account.

In a video posted on TikTok, Maddie shared her horrific experience. She said, "I wish I could say I bought the city of Los Angeles. It's not the case here. I'm not really sure what inclined me to check my bank account at like 2 AM. But I did."

After checking her bank account, Maddie discovered that there were 49 billion dollars negative in the account. She then contacted her bank to inform them of the problem.

"It also said on my account I would get $50 billion in 2099. Which would be sick but I don't know if I would be alive at that point," Maddie said. "Anyway, I have to go into the bank tomorrow to figure it out."

Following her visit to the bank, Maddie kept her TikTok followers updated about what happened. She said she learned that the bank uses the new method to inform users of account issues.

As Maddie explained, the staff requests anyone experiencing the same problem get in touch with them. Meanwhile, she has settled her issue, so it's all good, she said.

"So no, I'm not 50 billion dollars in debt anymore, thank God," said Maddie.

According to reports, the glitch has been affecting more than one person recently, and just like McGivern, many others are wondering how they became so indebted overnight.
