Following the death of her husband in an accident, a widow adopted six children who helped her cope with her grief. According to her, her late husband was instrumental in bringing the children into her life.

Before being struck by tragedy, Bobbie-Jo Floyd lived a happy married life with two sons. Her husband, Andre Floyd, died in a motorcycle accident on October 19, 2014, leaving her devastated, as reported by People.

Bobbie-Jo experienced pangs of self-pity as she engulfed herself in a ball on the floor during the following months. According to her, she was afraid to begin without her beloved husband.

Two years after Andre's death, Bobby-Jo released balloons in Philadelphia's Penn's Landing along with her two sons, Jeremai and Elyjah. That day, Bobby-Jo received a life-changing call from child welfare workers.

She was asked whether she's willing to foster two sisters. Bobby-Jo, whose interest in becoming a foster parent had piqued nearly a year ago, immediately embraced the idea.

One day, the social workers visited Bobby-Jo in Philadelphia with Destiny and Serenity. Apart from the girls, Lysander, their little brother, came along on the trip as well.

Lysander was going to be dropped off at a different location, Bobby-Jo told People. She then asked the workers if they would let the boy stay if she could get another bed for him. Fortunately, they agreed.

Bobby-Jo's persistence with social workers and the court led to the adoption of three additional siblings, Honesty, Adrian, and August.

After that, she built a lasting relationship. Following a successful adoption in February of 2020 of the four youngest children, she completed the adoption of the two older children in May 2021.

It's all a sign from her late husband, Bobby-Jo told People. According to her, Andre knew exactly what keeps her going.
