It is not new to us that Miley Cyrus speaks out on social issues, particularly about mental health.

A major mental health crisis has erupted globally due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Several celebrities have spoken out about their concerns.

Milwaukee Summerfest concertgoers also heard from Miley during her September 17th performance.

She informed them that the show would need to be paused. The singer then opened up to her fans, saying she was having a panic attack.

"Like everyone else, for the last year and a half I've been locked away and isolated and it is very stunning to be back in a place that used to feel like second nature," Miley explained.

Previously, the singer said being on stage was like being at home, but that it does not feel that way anymore due to the amount of time she spends locked away at home. It is a striking change, she noted.

The pandemic has also closed the social divide between celebrities and their fans, with celebs openly discussing their struggles, Miley continued.

Following the conversation with her fans, Miley continued with the rest of her set.

Miley talked about the pandemic before. In May 2020, she admitted to WSJ that she didn't want to talk about the devastation COVID-19 had on her life because so many other people had it much worse.

"My life has been pushed pause on, but really I have no idea what this pandemic is like," Miley said. "I am comfortable in my space and able to put food on my table and [I am] financially stable, and that’s just not the story for a lot of people."

Miley was fortunate to be in a better position than most, but the isolation did make it difficult.
