In the long-running defamation battle, Kesha just lost the right to demand Dr. Luke foot the bill for her legal fees.

On Thursday, a New York appellate court ruled that Kesha will not receive compensation even if she wins her legal dispute with her ex-manager and producer, real name Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald.

A statement released by the singer's lawyer, O'Melveny, in regard to this matter clarifies that they will request a court review of the ruling promptly.

"Today’s opinion is manifestly erroneous and contrary to the conclusion reached by approximately 20 other courts," the statement said. "We will promptly seek Court of Appeals review."

In 2014, Dr. Luke sued Kesha alleging she defamed him for calling her former manager out for drugging and sexually assaulting her and Katy Perry in public.

In a previous ruling, Kesha had been found to have defamed Dr. Luke after Katy clarified that she had never been abused by him.
