Adele's Emmy Win Puts Her On Track To Become An EGOT Winner


It was in the special that the singer performed new music for the first time in six years and appeared in an intimate interview with Oprah Winfrey.

During Saturday night's Creative Arts Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, Adele won her first Emmy award.

Although she did not attend the ceremony, the singer's CBS special "Adele One Night Only" won the Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) award.

The star is just one Tony Award away from becoming an EGOT victor following her Emmy win.

The term EGOT winner refers to a person who holds an Emmy Award, a Grammy Award, an Academy Award or Oscar, and a Tony Award.

As of now, only 17 people have succeeded in gathering all four, though some have been close.
