Kim Petras, the first openly transgender artist to win a Grammy Award, has spoken about her recent collaboration with Nicki Minaj on their latest single, “Alone.”

During an interview with Zane Lowe on "New Music Daily Radio" on Apple Music 1, Petras shared her excitement about working with Minaj, whom she admires.

Excitement over Collaboration

Petras spoke highly of Minaj’s verse on “Alone” during the interview, stating that the experience felt unreal.

She was especially touched by the line in which Minaj refers to her as “Kim Petty,” which left her in tears on the floor.

Petras said that Minaj changed her life with that verse and that she feels honored to have collaborated with her.

Music Video in the Works

In addition to discussing the song’s creation, Petras also confirmed that a music video for “Alone” is on the way.

The video was shot with Minaj, who expressed her love for the song and made Petras feel even more inspired by her.

Petras expressed her admiration for Minaj, stating that she is the greatest ever and that she goes into full superstar mode when the camera is on.

Grammy Award Winner

Petras’ collaboration with Minaj comes after winning the Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance earlier this year for her song with Sam Smith, “Unholy.”

As the first openly transgender artist to win a Grammy, Petras continues to make waves in the music industry and inspire others with her talent and hard work.
