Meghan Markle will not attend King Charles' coronation, and royal expert cites Princess Kate Middleton as the reason.

Former BBC journalist Tom Bower claims that Princess Kate Middleton prevented the Duchess of Sussex from attending the coronation of King Charles, set to take place at Westminster Abbey on May 6.

Bower stated on GB News that Middleton said she "wouldn't have her there under any circumstances." Bower further alleged that Middleton warned Markle that if she did attend, she would have to sit at the back of the event.

Harry Will Attend The Event Alone

Bower noted that Prince Harry's presence at the event is "constitutionally important." However, Harry's wife, Meghan Markle, will not be joining him.

A statement from Buckingham Palace confirmed that "The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on 6th May," while "The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet."

Things May Still Be Awkward

The coronation visit marks the first time for Harry to see his family since making a series of accusations in his book, "Spare."

Even though Meghan Markle will not attend the event, the insider familiar with the Sussexes told Page Six that "it's still going to be extremely awkward."
