Tom Holland Reflects on Over a Year of Sobriety on His Mental Health Journey

Tom Holland has revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, published on May 9th, 2023, that he has been sober for one year and four months. He credits his role as lead and executive producer on Apple TV+ series, "The Crowded Room," for helping him reflect on his own mental health journey.

Holland portrays the character of a shy, anti-social teenager from Upstate New York who is arrested after a shooting at the Rockefeller Center in 1979. Reflecting on his experience, Holland shared that while he is "no stranger" to the "physical aspects" of the job, the mental aspect of the role "really beat me up." He also admitted that it took him a long time to recover from the experience.
