Aumbun "Aum" Maikhao, a 23-year-old transgender woman from Beung Kan, participated in the national beauty contest, Miss Trans Thailand 2023.

Despite being born without the lower half of her legs, she displayed incredible determination and made it to the final competition held at Mambo Entertainment in Bangkok on July 29. The event was live-streamed on Miss Trans Thailand's YouTube page, and Polly Nthaya of Singburi won the title.

Aum's disability did not hinder her from competing, and her impressive runway walk and success in the preliminary rounds garnered widespread support online.

Many people found her perseverance and positivity inspiring and took to social media to commend her confidence and determination.

One user praised her resilience, saying, "Sooo powerful!! I can't imagine all the hardships and negativities she had to endure since the day she was born handicapped. But she is able, she endured, she delivered, she slayed, and she proved them all wrong."

Another user, even though usually skeptical of beauty pageants, expressed being left speechless and encouraged Aum to continue shining brightly.

Aum's remarkable journey in Miss Trans Thailand 2023 has resonated with many, celebrating her as an inspiration and symbol of strength and beauty.
