BTS' Jungkook has made history by becoming the first solo K-Pop artist to secure an accolade at the prestigious MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) in 2023.

Jungkook achieved this milestone by winning the coveted Song of the Summer award for his chart-topping track "Seven" featuring Latto. His triumph marks a groundbreaking moment as he becomes the inaugural K-pop soloist to claim victory in a non-K-pop category at the VMAs.

This remarkable achievement is even more noteworthy as Jungkook outshone formidable contenders like Beyoncé, Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Dua Lipa, Nicki Minaj, and Ice Spice, who were all nominated in the same category.

Since its release in July 2023, Jungkook's debut single has shattered records and soared to great heights. "Seven" not only secured the number one position on the Billboard Hot 100 but also dominated the daily Global Spotify Chart, amassing nearly 16 million streams. Furthermore, it clinched the third spot on the UK Singles Chart, solidifying its international appeal.

Jungkook's loyal fanbase flooded social media platforms to extend their heartfelt congratulations, with many believing that this accolade was undeniably well-deserved, dubbing it "only award that matters."
