In a resounding debut on the global music stage, BTS' Jungkook has claimed the No. 2 position on the prestigious Billboard 200 albums chart with his inaugural solo album, "Golden." This achievement marks a significant milestone for the South Korean sensation as he steps into the limelight beyond the group's collective success.

Billboard reported on Sunday (U.S. time) that "Golden" followed Taylor Swift's "1989 (Taylor's Version)," retaining its stronghold at the top for the second consecutive week. The Billboard 200 ranks albums in the United States based on equivalent album units, encompassing physical sales and digital records.

With an impressive 210,200 equivalent album units, including a noteworthy 164,800 from physical sales, "Golden" not only secured a high position but also claimed the top spot for physical album sales in the week ending November 9, according to the U.S. music magazine.

"Golden" not only showcases Jungkook's musical prowess but also traces his evolution from BTS's "golden maknae" – a term endearingly bestowed upon him by fans for his multifaceted talents as the youngest member – to a global pop star.

The album, consisting of 11 tracks, including standout titles like "Standing Next to You" and "Seven," boasts the remarkable success of "3D," which debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at both No. 1 and No. 5, respectively.

This accomplishment not only marks Jungkook's first appearance on the Billboard 200 but also makes him the sixth member of BTS to achieve a top 10-charting effort as a solo artist. The K-pop septet itself has amassed an impressive seven top 10s, including six No. 1s.

Since its release on November 3, "Golden" has achieved remarkable sales, with data from Hanteo Chart indicating a staggering 2.4 million copies sold by midnight on Friday. This milestone solidifies Jungkook's "Golden" as the best-selling solo K-pop album in its first week of release, further underscoring the global impact of BTS and its individual members on the music scene.
