Eilish initially touched upon her attraction to women in her November Variety profile, where she candidly shared, “I’m physically attracted to [women]. But I’m also so intimidated by them and their beauty and their presence.”

During the recent red carpet interview, she clarified that her earlier statement was not intended as a formal announcement. "I didn’t [know I was coming out], but I kinda thought, wasn’t it obvious?" she remarked. "I didn’t realize people didn’t know."

With a touch of humor, Eilish commented on her unintentional revelation, saying, “I’m still scared of [women], but I think they’re pretty. I saw the article, and I was like, ‘Oh, I guess I came out today!’ I just don’t really believe in [coming out]. I’m just like, why can’t we just exist? I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I just didn’t talk about it.”
