Jacob Elordi, best known for his role in HBO's Euphoria, is set to take on a new and uncanny role in Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro's latest project, a Netflix adaptation of Mary Shelley's classic novel, Frankenstein.

Originally eyeing Andrew Garfield for the lead, del Toro faced a setback due to scheduling conflicts, prompting the torch to be passed to the 26-year-old Euphoria star. Elordi, with a repertoire that includes notable works such as "Priscilla" (where he portrayed Elvis Presley) and "Saltburn," is now poised to add another significant movie to his growing list of achievements.

For those unfamiliar with the timeless tale of Frankenstein, it revolves around a brilliant scientist's quest to bring a creature to life, only to inadvertently create a rejected monster shunned by both its creator and society. This Netflix adaptation adds a modern twist to the classic narrative, joining the ranks of previous film adaptations, including the iconic 1931 version directed by James Whale.

The collaboration between Guillermo del Toro and Netflix has already proven successful with projects like the Pinocchio adaptation and the anthology series Cabinet of Curiosities. Now, the acclaimed director is gearing up to develop Frankenstein with a star-studded cast that includes Christoph Waltz, Felix Kammerer, Lars Mikkelsen, Mia Goth, David Bradley, Christian Convery, and Oscar Isaac.

Isaac is set to take on the role of Victor Frankenstein, while Jacob Elordi steps into the peculiar shoes of the monster. All eyes are on del Toro as he embarks on shaping this new rendition of Frankenstein, eager to see how he blends the timeless tale with the modern twists that have become synonymous with his directorial style.
