Despite a promising start to the season with six games under his belt, the 2021-22 season was derailed by a back injury, sidelining him for over 10 weeks.

His return in late January was short-lived, as he managed just nine games before being sidelined once more.

Since joining the Nets in 2022, Simmons has only been able to participate in 57 out of a possible 178 games.

Aside from his physical ailments, Simmons has also faced mental struggles, compounded by his prolonged absence from the court.

His agent, Bernie Lee, has shouldered the blame for his client's recurring back issues, acknowledging the challenges they've faced in finding effective solutions without resorting to surgery.

Despite their efforts, Simmons continues to grapple with the same injury, hindering his ability to perform at his peak.

Looking ahead, Lee is determined to explore alternative approaches during the offseason to help Simmons overcome his persistent injury woes.

However, speculation looms over whether another extended absence could be on the horizon, given the discussion of future plans to address Simmons' health concerns.

Nets interim coach Kevin Ollie remains hopeful for Simmons' swift return but acknowledges the uncertainty surrounding his timeline for recovery.

As Simmons navigates yet another setback, questions arise about the impact on his career trajectory and future contract negotiations.

While uncertainties persist, one fact remains clear: Ben Simmons finds himself sidelined once again, grappling with a familiar adversary that has plagued him for the better part of the last two seasons.
