R&B singer Chris Brown was arrested in Manchester, England, on May 15, 2025, in connection with an alleged assault that occurred in February 2023 at a London nightclub.
Brown is accused of attacking music producer Abe Diaw with a bottle of Don Julio 1942 tequila at Tape nightclub in Mayfair, London.
According to reports, Brown allegedly struck Diaw multiple times on the head with the bottle, rendering him unconscious, and then continued to kick and stomp on him.
Diaw sustained serious injuries, including head lacerations and torn leg ligaments, and required hospitalization.
The Metropolitan Police detained the 36-year-old singer at the Lowry Hotel on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
Brown remains in custody as investigations continue.
In October 2023, Diaw filed a lawsuit against Brown, seeking $16 million (£12 million) in damages, alleging not only the assault but also the spreading of defamatory rumors to damage his professional relationships.
Brown's representatives have not yet responded publicly to the recent arrest.
