Nicole Scherzinger Reflects on Pussycat Dolls Legacy and Future Prospects

Nicole Scherzinger, the powerhouse vocalist known for her work with The Pussycat Dolls, has candidly addressed the persistent speculation surrounding a reunion with the famed girl group.

In an exclusive interview with People Magazine, Scherzinger offered a hopeful, albeit open-ended, response to fans eager for the Dolls to hit the stage together once more.

"Never say never, girl," Scherzinger, 47, told People ahead of the premiere of her new Netflix series, Building the Band, where she serves as a judge and mentor.

While acknowledging her current commitments, including her acclaimed role in the Broadway revival of Sunset Boulevard, where she recently earned a Tony Award, she added, "No idea. I mean, I'm still in Norma land and Sunset Boulevard land, but who knows what the future holds."

Beyond the possibility of a reunion, Scherzinger delved into the profound lessons she gleaned during her tenure with the Pussycat Dolls from 2003 to 2010.

She emphasized the critical importance of humility and collaboration within a group dynamic, a philosophy she now imparts to aspiring musicians on Building the Band.

"I think to not have an ego and everyone plays a strong role in their own way," Scherzinger explained. "There's different roles and it's all for the betterment of the band."

She elaborated on the necessity for each member to understand their unique strengths and how to contribute to the collective success.

"When we were in this process, when the bands were forming, so many of the band members had unbelievable voices, really strong soloist voices, but not everyone could be a solo singer because it was a band. You had to know when you took your lead and you had to know when you could harmonize." This wisdom, she believes, is key to forging a strong and cohesive musical unit.

The Pussycat Dolls previously reunited in 2019, releasing the single "React" and announcing a tour that was ultimately canceled in 2022 due to various factors, including the COVID-19 pandemic and contractual disputes.

Despite the past challenges, Scherzinger consistently expresses affection for her former bandmates, maintaining that she keeps up with them on social media and that they all continue to thrive.

As Nicole Scherzinger continues to shine in her multifaceted career, from Broadway to mentoring new talent, her reflections on the Pussycat Dolls offer a glimpse into the complexities and triumphs of her journey in the music industry.
