The huge multi-million dollar agreement was made with Pophouse, a well-known entertainment and investment company that loves buying up major song rights. This means the firm now owns half the rights to some of the biggest pop anthems of the modern era.

Sia’s incredible song collection includes global mega-hits that everyone knows by heart. Songs like "Chandelier," "Cheap Thrills," "Elastic Heart," and "Unstoppable" are all part of this massive financial transaction.

Aside from her own chart-topping solo tracks, Sia has also written huge smash hits for other massive music stars. Her songwriting credits include tracks like Rihanna's "Diamonds," Beyoncé's "Pretty Hurts," and David Guetta's "Titanium".

Details of the big sale came to light through court documents related to her ongoing divorce from her estranged husband, Dan Bernad. Because of the legal proceedings, the financial structure of the payout had to be laid out clearly in public files.

Out of the total one hundred eighty million dollars, a large portion is tied to songs she wrote before getting married. Reports show she is set to receive one hundred sixty-five million dollars for that specific pre-marriage body of work.

As part of their separation agreement, her ex-husband agreed to waive any claims to that specific chunk of money. In exchange for dropping his claims to those funds, Sia agreed to give him a one million dollar payout.

Meanwhile, another fifteen million dollars from the deal is linked directly to music she created during her marriage. That specific portion of the cash is currently being held safely in escrow.

The former couple will need to figure out how to divide those remaining funds once their divorce is fully finalized. Selling song catalogs has become a huge trend for legacy artists looking to cash in on years of hard work.
