Acclaimed singer-songwriter Taylor Swift has earned her fifth title for the best-selling album with "Folklore."

According to MRC Data, the source of music sales info for the Billboard charts, "Folklore" finished 2020 as the year's best-selling album in the United States.

Swift, 31, has now achieved the best-selling album of the year five times. She is the first artist to have done so since MRC began tracking in 1992.

Swift previously topped the year-end list with "Fearless" in 2009, "1989" in 2014, "Reputation" in 2017, and "Lover" in 2019.

Since it was released in July, "Folklore" broke a number of records. In September, it became 2020's top-selling album, staying at the top of the Billboard 200 chart for six consecutive weeks and remaining the year's sole album to sell more than one million copies.

Meanwhile, the multi-awarded musician surprised her legion of fans with her ninth studio album entitled "Evermore" in December 2020.

"I'm elated to tell you that my 9th studio album, and folklore's sister record, will be out tonight at midnight eastern. It's called evermore," she wrote on Twitter at the time.
