Christina Aguilera Shares her Experiences as a Child Star in New Interview

Even though Christina was constantly under scrutiny as a young woman, she was proud of her honesty and battled through many insecurities.

In a recent interview, Christina Aguilera spoke candidly about the difficulties she faced as a child star.

Christina was highly regarded for her powerful and soulful voice. However, in spite of her successes, she had a lot of struggles during her childhood.

During an interview with Health, the 40-year-old shared how traumatized she was growing up as a child star.

The singer revealed that she suffered from depression and anxiety quite frequently. She added that it was extremely difficult for her to overcome a mind that was constantly second-guessing herself.

Growing up in the limelight at a young age, it was expected that Christina would experience these challenges. When she got her first taste of fame on "Star Search," she was only an eight-year-old.

She was a member of the New Mickey Mouse Club at age 13 along with Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears.

According to Christina, she has been working since she was seven and feels a strong sense of guilt when she is not.

Furthermore, she explained that she was pitted against her peers as a child entertainer.

Even though Christina was constantly under scrutiny as a young woman, she was proud of her honesty and battled through many insecurities.



In order to make it through all of it, she said she needed to give herself permission to breathe because it was a weird place to grow up in. The experiences weren't enough to hold her back.

Meanwhile, Christina revealed that she had been working on an English and a Spanish album that has been overdue for 20 years. The “Fighter” singer said that it brought her back into love with music.
