Henry Cavill Reveals He Won't Be Returning As Superman

Henry Cavill, known for his portrayal of Superman in the DC Universe, has announced on Instagram that he will not be returning to the role.

In a statement, Cavill said that he had recently met with DC Studios' co-chairmen and co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran, and was told that he would not be returning as Superman.

"It's sad news, everyone," Cavill wrote. "I will, after all, not be returning as Superman."

The actor went on to say that he was originally told by the studio to announce his return to the role back in October, but that the recent news was not easy to hear.
