Dermot Kennedy has expressed his desire to write a fantasy novel inspired by "The Lord of the Rings".

The singer has already proven his writing skills through his successful songs, and hopes to use those skills to create a story set in a world similar to the one depicted in J.R.R. Tolkien's classic fantasy series.

Kennedy said, "I'd love to go and live in a different world for a bit...It'd be Hobbity, I imagine. That's where I started. Those are the books I fell in love with as a kid. I love the idea of Tolkien - like, not even being here and spending all of his time in that world."

Writing a book could also provide an additional source of income for Kennedy, who has found it challenging to profit from touring in the United States. Despite this, he will be performing at Madison Square Garden in June.

Prior to his successful career in music, Kennedy worked as a SpongeBob SquarePants impersonator, but always believed in his talent and continued to pursue his dreams in the music industry.
