During the sentencing hearing on Wednesday for Payton Gendron, 19, who had been found guilty of fatally shooting ten people at a Tops supermarket in Buffalo, New York, a video captured an incident in which an individual rushed toward Gendron.

The person was subsequently stopped by law enforcement officials, and the hearing was resumed by Judge Susan Eagan.
Gendron had pleaded guilty in November to several charges, including 10 counts of murder in the first degree, murder as a hate crime, and criminal possession of a weapon.

After the shooting, Gendron was arrested and revealed to have written a document describing himself as a "white supremacist."
He was sentenced to life in prison without parole for each charge, which will run concurrently. Several individuals, including Wayne Jones Sr., who had lost his mother in the shooting, provided victim impact statements during the hearing.
