Five Dead, Including Child, in Shooting by Alleged Drunk Gunman in Texas



A tragic shooting incident occurred on Friday night in Cleveland, Texas, resulting in the death of five individuals, including an 8-year-old child.

San Jacinto Country Sheriff Greg Capers confirmed that the victims were shot in an "almost execution style" by an alleged drunk AR-15 gunman, as reported by PEOPLE.

Deputies responded to the 911 calls and found four people dead, with one in critical condition at the scene, while an 8-year-old was pronounced dead at the local trauma center.

Ten people inside the residence were injured, and three of the deceased were female, including the child, and two were male.

The suspect, Francisco Oropeza, reportedly fired his AR-15 rifle on his front porch, allegedly intoxicated. Neighbors asked him to keep quiet for their sleeping baby, but Oropeza claimed it was his property.

One individual inside the residence managed to capture a video of Oropeza approaching their front door with the rifle.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Oropeza, and a bond of $5 million has been set. Montgomery County SWAT arrived at the scene to help clear nearby, and the suspect is currently within a two-mile radius of the residence, having fled by bike or foot.

Three victims were transported to a hospital, and their condition remains unknown. Two others were evaluated at the scene and cleared for release.
