K-Pop Star Moonbin of ASTRO Passes Away at 25: Investigation Underway

Korean news outlets have reported that Moonbin, a member of the K-Pop group ASTRO, has passed away.

According to Yonhap News and as translated by Koreaboo, the singer was found lifeless in his Gangnam home on April 19 by his manager, who then alerted the authorities.

The police suspect that Moonbin took his own life, and an investigation is currently ongoing.


ASTRO's agency, Fantagio, confirmed the singer's passing in a tweet posted on the group's official account.

In their statement, the agency expressed their condolences to Moonbin's family and fans, noting how much the singer cared for his supporters.

Moonbin had been with ASTRO since the group's debut in 2016 and had also appeared in a few acting roles. He was 25 years old at the time of his passing.

Fans and members of the K-Pop community have been expressing their grief and condolences on social media, and Fantagio has requested that people refrain from spreading speculative and malicious rumors while Moonbin's loved ones mourn their loss.
