Dove Cameron Auditions for 'Wicked' Role, Loses to Ariana Grande

Dove Cameron, the Disney Channel alumna, has confirmed that she auditioned for the role of Glinda in the upcoming movie musical adaptation of "Wicked", directed by Jon M. Chu.

Despite being a fan favorite for the role, the part ultimately went to Ariana Grande. Cameron has shared her support for Grande and the rest of the cast.

Lengthy Audition Process

According to Cameron, the audition process for Glinda was one of the most protracted ones she has ever been involved in.

The actress has confirmed that she did audition for the role in an interview with The Wrap. She further added that it was one of the longer processes she has been part of.

Grande Lands the Role

Ariana Grande was cast in the role of Glinda in November 2021. The first look images of her in action as Glinda have just been released. The film, "Wicked: Part One", is set to be released in November 2024.

Cameron Supports Grande and the Cast

Despite losing out on the coveted role, Dove Cameron has expressed her excitement and support for Ariana Grande and the rest of the cast.

Cameron has worked with Grande before and considers her a "living icon." She believes that Grande will do justice to the role of Glinda, and is excited to see the entire cast in action.
