The official cause of death of the renowned rapper Coolio has been revealed. The artist, known for his hit song "Gangsta’s Paradise," passed away at the age of 59 in September of last year.

While a heart attack was initially proposed as the potential cause of his untimely demise, the exact circumstances were unclear.

However, following toxicology reports, Coolio's family has disclosed that the coroner has determined the drug fentanyl as the primary factor in the artist's death. At the time of his passing, Coolio also had heroin and methamphetamine in his system.

According to Jarel Posey, a spokesperson for the family, the rapper's advanced asthma and smoking habits contributed to the various factors surrounding his death. These factors weakened his body's natural defenses against the drugs' harmful effects.

Despite the unfortunate circumstances surrounding his passing, Coolio's family plans to honor his legacy through a long-lasting tribute, including films, documentaries, and other forms of commemoration.
