In a candid revelation on the latest episode of the U.K. reality show "I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!", Jamie Lynn Spears, 32, delved into a painful memory from her sister Britney Spears’ past. The Zoey 101 alum disclosed that Britney, now 41, was left "heartbroken" after losing the Best New Artist award to Christina Aguilera at the 2000 Grammy Awards.

Jamie Lynn recounted the incident during a discussion with her fellow campmates, including Sam Thompson, 31, who shared his own experience of missing out on an award at the British Podcast Awards.

"Want to hear about something really embarrassing that happened one time?" Jamie Lynn queried her co-stars. "It involves my sister. She was up for her first Grammy. It was her and Christina [Aguilera]."

Despite Britney's undeniable prominence that year, Jamie Lynn shared, "Britney was clearly the bigger star of that year, she worked her ass off. They had MTV camera crews at home watching our family because it was like a no-brainer, she's winning. And she's there, and she lost."

Recalling her young perspective at the time, Jamie Lynn expressed her disappointment, saying, "I just remember being like, 'This is crap.'"

Thompson inquired about Britney's reaction to the loss, to which Jamie Lynn responded, "She was at the awards show, she was at the Grammys. I was so young, I was probably like 8 or 7 or something. She was really like, ‘I don’t ever want to go to the Grammys.’ She was heartbroken about that because her whole life had been dedicated to winning that."

Defending her sister's talent, Jamie Lynn added, "Christina won it, and by the way, remember Christina was wonderfully talented, but that year, I mean come on, let's be honest, ‘It’s Britney, bitch’ like always."

Thompson offered a sympathetic jest, saying, "Tell Britney I understand." Despite the setback, Britney did make a triumphant return to the Grammys, securing the Best Dance Recording award for "Toxic" in 2004. In total, Britney Spears has garnered eight Grammy nominations throughout her career.
