In a recent episode of "The Run-Through with Vogue" podcast, global rap sensation Nicki Minaj got candid about her regrets regarding some of her past plastic surgery decisions. The multi-talented artist acknowledged that altering one's appearance through surgical means often leads to a moment of reflection, stating, “I guarantee you, if you change anything on your body and do anything surgical and all this, you’re going to — more than likely, not definitely, more than likely — look back one day and say, ‘I was fine just the way I was.'"

During the podcast episode hosted by Chioma Nnadi and Chloe Malle, Minaj delved into her personal experience, confessing, "And that’s what happened to me. I could not believe even some of the photos that I didn’t love.” The rapper, known for her bold and unapologetic attitude, expressed her surprise at her own dissatisfaction with certain images of herself.

The revelation took place during an interview celebrating Minaj's cover story for Vogue's November issue. The co-hosts took the opportunity to remind Minaj of a moment from September 2011 when she joined Vogue Editor in Chief Anna Wintour at the Carolina Herrera Show. To this, Minaj immediately responded by expressing her reluctance to revisit older photos, stating, "'cause I didn’t like the way I looked."

She elaborated, "I didn’t like being skinny, having a flat butt, you know. Having boobs that didn’t sit high enough. It was a lot of things. And when I look back at myself now, I literally was like, ‘Oh, I’m about to look like that girl again.’”

Minaj's journey of self-acceptance took center stage in the conversation. She highlighted the shift from disapproval of her past physique to a newfound appreciation for her current self. "The reason why I wasn’t able to look back at my old photos was I didn’t like the way I looked, right, physically," Minaj added. "And now I love the way that person looks physically.”

The rapper provided insight into how her decision to undergo cosmetic changes was influenced by the demands of her growing public persona. The music industry's intense scrutiny created an environment that Minaj likened to a "very scary" fish bowl, where "millions" of people were closely watching her every move. This constant observation played a significant role in shaping her perception of herself.

Notably, Minaj touched upon a pivotal moment in her life – the birth of her son, affectionately known as "Papa Bear." This life-altering event played a crucial role in reshaping Minaj's perspective on herself. Motherhood became a transformative experience, influencing her self-image in a profound way.

In this revealing podcast episode, Nicki Minaj not only opens up about the challenges of navigating the pressures of the entertainment industry but also underscores the personal growth that comes with embracing one's authentic self. The rapper's journey from dissatisfaction with her appearance to self-love serves as a powerful narrative of resilience and self-discovery in the public eye.
