"I'm very excited about this tribute to Colombian women and the Barranquilleras inside and outside my land!" Shakira exclaimed in a post that accompanied a video showcasing the impressive statue. Crafted by artist Yino Marques, the monument captures the iconic dance move from Shakira's 2005 hit, "Hips Don't Lie."

In the video, Shakira's parents, William Mebarak Chadid and Nidia Ripoll Torrado, along with Barranquilla Mayor Jaime Pumarejo, are seen marveling at the statue for the first time. The singer's fans also seized the opportunity to pose for pictures with the monumental creation.

Earlier on the same day, the "Waka Waka" artist shared a series of photos highlighting the statue's grandeur. One image features her parents smiling and holding hands in front of the monument, while another offers a close-up of the sculpture.
